Meet The Heart Behind TruHydro

A Passion for the Grow

At Tru Hydro, we believe everyone has a green thumb—some just haven't found it yet. Our owner, known to the community as Auntie Paula, has spent a lifetime nurturing plants. Her passion isn't just about gardening; it’s about the science and soul of hydroponics.

Whether she’s fine-tuning a system for her favorite spicy peppers, harvesting massive potatoes, or tending to her cannabis plants, Paula knows that the right setup makes all the difference. She started TruHydro to share that "seed to success" feeling with all of Chesapeake.

More Than Just a Store

We are a Veteran and Women-Owned small business. We don't just sell lights and nutrients—we build confidence.

  • The Chesapeake Community: We love our city and are proud to be your local "plug" for indoor and outdoor growing gear.

  • No Question is Too Small: We specialize in helping beginners get their first tent running and helping pros maximize their yields.

  • Our Promise: If we wouldn't use it in our own gardens, we won't sell it in our store.

Why Hydroponics?

Traditional gardening is great, but hydroponics is Tru. It’s about growing fresh produce year-round, using less water, and getting faster results. Paula’s favorites—potatoes, veggies, and cannabis—all thrive in the systems we stock.

A rare guide is someone who can help you

"Even if you aren't ready to buy, just pay us a visit and ask questions. We’re here to help you grow minds and practical skills." — Auntie Paula

while also encouraging you to believe in your own ability to thrive
